In light of this year's events

I'm writing my last goodbyes in case something happens to me.
This year, so many young people have died.
Rudy Madea died yesterday at school. I didn't know him, but I spoke with his best friends tonight. Instead of keeping emotions bottled like everyone else, Rudy let his friends know how much he appreciated them. He lived his life to the fullest. No shoes. No underwear.
I don't want my last words to go unspoken.

I was doing alright with the letters to my friends, but once I hit my family, I started to cry. I didn't think that this would be so hard.

Hey Pet Supply Plus Kids

What the crap is up with taking so long every time I go in there?
Well not every time.. but the past few times that I've gone in, ol' what's-his-face ("ponytail guy" as a coworker called him) in the fishie and animal dept ignored me.

To list the two most recent examples:

- I entered about 5 minutes before a small group of PSM girls did. They got some orandas. Sure, they got some.. then more PSM came in. Then more. And more. And more. I guess I didn't flip my hair right because by the time he finally got around to me, he'd sold all - and I mean all - the small orandas to the girls. (I had to get a large. Not what I wanted, but whatever. I was just ready to leave.)

- Today, I came in while he was putting new birds in a cage and having a conversation with some lady who loved snakes. (snake-o-phelia.) Okay, sure. I understand. He was busy. Then the lady walked off with the snake to look around the store. By that time I'd been there for 15 minutes. Ponytail guy walked off.. with the drawers to the bird cages and snake cages open.. so he's not bright.
I was still standing there just pointing at the fish I wanted.
The guy came back, pet a rodent, then walked off again. I'm not one to walk out, so I finally asked some other person who I had to talk with to get a friggin' fish. "How long have you been standing here? I saw you like 15 minutes ago."
Geez.. So what's-his-face was no where to be found.. he was "in the back" or something.. probably petting his rodent...

What's the deal, guys?

It only took me 5 minutes to pick out a fish (record time for me), but 30 minutes just to get someone to bag it.

Maybe I'm not assertive enough.

I should have dialed up a smack down.

You know..

busted a cap.

or at least scuffed his floor...

... or maybe gotten a discount...

Tired

Friday night I went to my last first high school football game.
There was a little confusion with Cherish forgetting what she was supposed to do for pre-game, but over all we did a great job.
Sure Ware is a county school so their band is bigger, but all they did was blast.
I'm pretty proud.
I'm not quite sure what the technical term for when the other team "huts" the ball.. or "hikes" it or whatever. (It's when they say "hut")
Anyway - the first time the other team did it, Mr. Birge was like, "Alright we're gonna scream as loud as we can to see if we can get them to mess up.. Wait for it.. Wait for it.. NOW!" and we all screamed and it worked.
Then the second time, he was like, "Okay now we're gonna each say 'hut hut' to see if we can get them to mess up again.. Wait for it.. NOW!"
Sure we could have gotten a penalty, but oh well.
The crowd clapped with us for our second tune "The Way You Move."
That's the first time I ever remember them clapping.
I was so worried they'd hate us.
Woop Woop
We left the game during our third-quarter-break because weather reports said bad rain was headed our way.
And it did.

Today I mainly just sat around all day.
My grandparents, sister and bro-in-law, and brother all came over for dinner.

Now I think I'm about to hit the sack.

Church last sunday

So last sunday at church, the pastor pulled out a prayer request and called the woman who wrote it and her family to the front.
The request went something along the lines of, "My son suddenly stopped talking at 15 months. The doctors don't know what's wrong with him. (yada yada yada) He has a neurologist appointment later this week. Please pray for my son, the doctors, and my husband."
Well the entire church prayed for the boy. It was very emotional.
Then the kid was just like, "Hey"
And the pastor was like, "Hey. What's up?"
And the kid was like, "Agugolesopeded."
The church went nuts.
These were the first words this kid had spoken in at least like eleven months.

If I were him, I would have chosen better words.. maybe something like,
"Fooled Ya"
"Woop Woop"
"Don't ya wanna Fanta?"
"I pooped a candle."

Something cool.

I think "Hey" was sufficient though.. the kid's only three or so..

Last Camp of the Marching Pirates

Today was my last day of high school band camp :(

I was in the hallway right before full-band rehearsal, and Daniel Kimp brought it up. "One more day of band camp ever."
That made me shed a tear or two.. Then in my last 5 minutes, Mr. Clark (Jane Macon director) called me up to the stand to direct. That made me cry even more. I sucked it up to direct "Two Tickets to Paradise" and tried to remember as much about that moment as I could.
The faces smiling through their instruments at me..
I'm such a dork, but I really do love band.

I'm going to miss high school band so much... I don't think I'll be able to handle my last game.
This is by far going to be my best year.

For now, I have to go see my brother graduate boot camp. (That's why I left camp a day and a half early.)

Baby Sittin Boys

So Kobie and Ryan (boys I baby sit from time to time) got a new baby-sitter.. She's just some other girl. My mom and other ladies at the Park Inn like to pick on him about his "girlfriends." (the kid is like.. 4)
They asked him if this new girl was his girlfriend, and he said:
"No. She's not my type."
"Well what is your type?"
"Miss Elaina."

Aren't kids so cute?

Warped Tour

So I got up at 8:30 this morning and got ready... I got Cherish around 9:30, and we got my mom's van, filled it up, and got some food from Hardey's..
We were supposed to follow her boyfriend Sam, but he left without us. What a friggin jerk. He knew we were going to follow him, but instead he just slipped off without a phonecall or anything. We didn't know for sure he'd left without us until we ran into his passengers in j-ville...
Gah.. but anyways...
We made it to Warped Tour and got in the gates around noon.
The rest of the day went by so fast.
I crowed surfed at least 5 times to Thursday and Motion City Soundtrack.
Cherish wore the "birthday girl" pin I gave her today, and I heckled us some discounts with it. "Hey it's her birthday! Can we pay just a dollar instead of four? Come on..
I gave a guy in a mosh pit a wedgie. He was surprised.
The tops of my feet are bruised.
This one time I crowd surfed, I almost got dropped face first, but as I saw the concrete coming, the crowd flipped me back up. It was so cool.
Another time I got spun around over and over..
Oh and this other time, some guy got stuck under my butt and couldn't get up, so he just kept bumpin me with his head.
It was awesome.
Cherish and I decided to head home around 5:30 because we were worn out..
On our way to take one last picture, I got really sick.. I'd felt pukey all day, but this time I knew I had to head for the bushes.
Seeing no bushes, I went to a grassy area near a fence and puked my brains out.
A few seconds later, I saw these kids head in the puke-zone direction. As they sat down and one kid ran his hand through it, I zoomed over there to tell him all that stuff of the ground was puke... I don't think he really understood because he and his friends just shifted over a foot..
Oh well.. I wonder how many other people sat in my chunks...
But yeah, Cherish and I headed home after that last picture.. I kinda dozed off at the wheel a couple of times.. Cherish finally said something when I changed lanes..
We made it home safe anyways in spite of my fatigue.
I immediately hopped in the shower..
I still feel kinda sick..

Over all today was mighty awesome.
